Full time kindergarten classes are now in effect with many elementary schools in the United States. Instead of five year old children leaving mother for one half day, children are now able to attend school for a full day. Funding for full time kindergarten has been a huge issue in this country.

You did not deserve to die. I have not been able to wrap my mind around the senselessness of your death.

Back in the old days (that is, pre-college), summer break meant the best movies, the best tans, and the best sleep ever. Now, summer still means all of that, and so much more. It means being able to watch the new Spiderman/ Harry Potter/ Pirates movie at midnight because you don't have a curfew, instead of waiting for the matinee the next day.

Just before Spring Break our English teacher, Ms. Laing, surprised us with the news of an author coming to our English class to speak to us. First she didn't want to tell us who it was since that person had a celebrity status, but then she was too excited herself to keep this secret from us.

Among the pleasant and unpleasant memories I remember was one at the age of ten. When I was a kid, my friends and I would go to a cottage where we used to play every summer after school. About a mile inot the woods, behind the cottage, was a cave. One day somebody told us that in that cave there were bats.

Since their burst onto the indie scene in the mid nineties with This is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About, Modest Mouse has been hailed as one of the most unique bands that America has to offer. Mixing country, folk, pop, and rock sensibilities with biting, cynical lyrics and lead singer Isaac Brock's trademark growling howl, Modest Mouse has managed to create an original and untouchable sound in a world of bland, mass-produced music.
